My First Cloth Doll?

This may very well be my first cloth doll. I don't recognize the doll (and I don't have it in my possession) but if it was hand-made, I'm hoping someone will be able to identify the design. The photo was taken in 1961.

Here's a little better photo my mom sent me. I suppose this could be a commercially made doll. It's hard to tell.
