Doncha just hate it when you forget you've already got a particular pattern, so buy it again? To be fair, I've had this particular pattern for quite awhile. When it come up on eBay I thought it looked familiar, but I've seen a lot of patterns in my day. The doll/pattern is by Loretta Daum Byrne, and has a copyright of 1983, and is out of print. The pattern pieces are uncut and still stapled to the center of the booklet. The cover shows some shelf wear.
The "Anne Marie" booklet has full-size pattern and instructions for a 17 inch soft sculpture doll with inserted eyes, and complete outfit (this includes her dress, pantaloons, slip, stockings, shoes and hat). The booklet is 13 pages of instruction, illustration and color photos.
SOLD
Deanna, I'd like the pattern. You can bill me through Paypal at kerbach2709@att.net

Hi Kate!
ReplyDeleteIt's yours ;-)
LOL! That was fast!!! Kate and Deanna I've been looking at patterns to purchase. In researching the doll, it appears she was a wooden doll, right? So I was thinking that perhaps I'll just draw a doll body so that it resembles that wooden doll structure. Your input would be valuable.

Deanna , I have been a fan of your dolls for a few yrs now . I'm so glad to have found your blog. you have been an inspiration to me. I have been making dolls for a few yrs, thank you Heather
ReplyDeleteHi Pam,
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about this Anne Marie doll, or another? To be honest, I know very little about the history of this particular doll. Loretta Daum Byrne may have modeled her after a wooden doll.
After I'm done with my Americana Patriotic Challenge doll and my Hoffman Challenge doll, I think I may start a cloth and/or paperclay version of a Queen Anne inspired doll.
I'd love to see what you come up with, though, so I'll be sure to keep an eye on your blog.
Good luck!
Deanna
Hi Heather,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've visited my blog and have found it a source of inspiration. I know I've been pretty quiet of late, but there's always so much going on.
If you've got a blog or website, please post it here so we can all see your dolls!!
Deanna
That doll pattern looks like a Babyland Rag to me. They were "Turn of the Century". ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOoking forward to what you end up with on your patriotic doll. I know it will be wonderful.
That Kate is FAST.

I was so surprised and pleased to get an email today from none other than Loretta Daum Byrne. Loretta says that the Annie Marie doll was NOT designed after a wooden doll.
ReplyDeleteShe says, "I have done many cloth dolls and this one was just done 'out of my head' as were the others. What makes her unique is that she is dressed after a description my Mother gave me of her Easter dress, hat, etc. when she was a little girl in the early 1900's. She lived on the Miss. River in MN and her mother made outfits like this for four little girls on a treadle sewing machine. The fabric, shoes, hats & ribbon were ordered from Montgomery Ward. Anne Marie also has the "set-in" button eyes that were pretty much my trademark when I was writing and designing for a number of needlework and craft magazines for over 20 years.
These days I create polymer clay and fabric figures depicting the Native Americans from the Great Lakes area; among other things..."
Enjoy the information,
Loretta Daum Byrne
Thanks Loretta!
