New Doll: Lisette

Tentatively name Lisette, this is my most recent doll from my new design. She is made from Windsor Ponte fabric, which I believe is no longer made. There were pros and cons with this fabric. Her hair is Tibetan lamb on the hide. I still need to decide on a final hair-do, and possibly a hat - but otherwise she's done!

Yesterday I painted her wood base. I was trying for a cobblestone sort of effect.

Update: Lisette finally had her "photo shoot" today. Now to update my website...

Newsletter #15: 2023, Here We Come

 https://blue-heron-dolls.ck.page/posts/2023-here-we-come

Toward the end of my Covid isolation, I took the time to formalize the pattern and instructions for my Santa head ornament. This meant I had to make one more in order to photograph the various steps.

New Santa Pattern

I have a new Santa pattern available. This is an ornament/pin doll I designed many years ago. You can find the pattern on my website, or for instant download you can go to my Etsy store.

I'm starting to feel better and am nearing the end of my Covid isolation. Since I still had Santa-related fabrics out, I decided to finally write the pattern/instructions for the Santa head ornament (originally designed in 2004). I'd started writing out the instructions many years ago, but had finalized until today. This meant I had to sew another ornament.

To distinguish this pattern from my "Sleepytime Santa" pattern (which was an off-shoot from this original design), I'm naming this one "It's a Wrap" - meaning Santa is done for the year, and is ready for a good long rest!

Two More Sleepytime Santas

I've been sewing, and sewing, and sewing. No more until after the New Year! These Sleepytime Santas will be giftwrapped today, just in time for Christmas.
