Quick Nick

Today I finished five new ornaments, taking photos as I sewed, stuffed, and glued. This will become a new pattern after we get through the holidays. I think he'll be available in digital format only.

I call him "Quick Nick" because he is a *relatively* quick dolls to make. I suppose he could be a pin doll, too!

Update, 12/27/21  I've just finished the pattern and instructions for this cute little doll:

Happy Thanksgiving

Thankful for so many things this year.

Koi

A friend and former co-worker of mine asked if I would make an art print featuring two koi - in specific colors - for her granddaughter. This was a fun project, and it's amazing how many types of koi there are.

I scanned progress as I painted, so as not to ruin a step - the most challenging being efforts to make it look like the fish were under water and not on the surface. Here's the before and after.

Moose

Made for a friend, in exchange for a rustic teak table and chairs. Inspired by a Kaleidoscope (taster lesson) by Tam Laporte and many photos of moose (real and drawn).

Another Cecelia

I had the pleasant surprise of finding two stuffed doll bodies with attached heads, started who-knows-how-long-ago. They just needed arms, legs, the rest to complete. This is the second of the two. The first you can see on the previous post.

The customer wanted an Irish lass, a redhead with messy hair. So I drafted a pattern to sew a darted wig, made of Tibetan lamb and stitched in place.

Cecelia

Just finished another doll this morning. This is Cecelia, made from craft/robe velour (I don't remember which). Her face is painted in acrylics, and her hair is bulky wool yarn, sewing in place. Her clothing is removable. She stands about 13 inches tall.

Ruby

I've got no less than five dolls in various stages of completion. I'm pleased that I've finally gotten one dressed. This is Ruby. She stands about 13 inches tall. Paperclay over cloth.
