Remembering Rosie

Today I lost something precious to me, my long-time, constant companion, Rosie.

We got Rosie in 1991, from the local animal shelter. She had an easy-going personality, and loved to "help" me in the sewing room. I'd always have to remember to shut the door, or I'd find yarn, seam rippers, and other notions all over the house (she gave up on living critters long ago, and hunted inanimate objects, instead).

She was a chatterbox; really vocal and expressive. I'll miss her 5:30 a.m. requests for breakfast, and her loud "mama" cries when she conquered a ball of yarn.

She will be missed.

Oh Deanna! I'm so sorry.

She looks very like my own dear sweet moggy, now nineteen years old. She just wandered in one day and sat on the doorstep as if to say, 'Well...here I am!'

A saucer of milk later and she'd moved right in as if she'd always been here. She has the sweetest nature of any cat I have ever met - not a mean bone in her body. She can't last too much longer, but I'm dreading the day.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind note. Rosie was really special to me. We'd formed quite a bond. She was quite a talker, and could communicate her needs very clearly.

I'd been dreading her passing, and knew it was soon in coming just because she was so old - though she'd been incredibly healthy her whole life. I think I was saying goodbye to her all weekend, knowing what Monday would bring.

Susie ~ Love your moggy, and enjoy the time you have with her.

Oh, Deanna, I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my dear Snuggles two years ago, and sometimes it still seems like yesterday. She was a very senior lady as well, and got very sick at the end. I miss her all the time. My two other "furry children" are shelter kitties, and I love them with all my heart. My thoughts are with you.
Blessings,

Thank you so much, jojo
I still expect to see her now and then. I'm content that she knew I loved her very much, and she
reciprocated as well. There won't be another cat like her, she was unique.

I'm glad you had a
special kitty, too, and thank goodness we have photos to help keep memories alive, even if the
loss still hurts.

Take care,
Deanna

I am so sorry for your loss. I find myself missing Venus at all hours of the day, depending on what I am doing I still expect her to walk by me or jump on the counter asking for attention. I know it will get better, but it is so very hard.
