New Amity Doll

I can't believe it's been over a year since I made my last doll. I've just been busy with other creative outlets - mixed media journal pages, as well as dabbling in music (small, informal venues).

This is Amity - or at least a 78% of original size Amity, so she stands about 17 inches tall. She's made of my favorite woven doll fabric, Timeless Treasures Complexion Collection - which I haven't been able to find anywhere (such a shame). At least I have a little left.

Amity's clothes are removable. Her little red shrug/jacket was made from a recycled swimsuit - one I had from the early 90s. I loved the texture, but boy, was it a beast to sew! Her shoes are made from wool felt, and are also removable.

I always choose the hair color based on the complexion of the doll and the colors I've chosen for the clothing. While I usually lean red or auburn, that just didn't go with this doll. I found some wool yarn that I've had awhile (can't even remember where I bought it). It's a single ply (?), and a lovely neutral brown with hints of blue.
